Marie Antoinette (MUST)
Marie Antoinette was the first performance I was apart of after graduating, held by Monash Uni Student Theatre (MUST), and I was not only lucky enough to be the production manager but also the makeup artist. It involved collaborating with the director in order to come up with looks for each individual character that reflected their personality and lifestyle, while also remaining the perfect balance of modern and historical. There were multiple actors playing characters who were the opposite gender, which needed to be reflected through their makeup, and one actor who had to somewhat represent a sheep. It was also important that the looks didn't clash with the lighting, set or costumes so a lot of thought, time and practice went into them. Actors were taught how to apply their own makeup for their character, guided by the face plan provided, and adjustments were made as more rehearsals went on until it was perfected for opening night.
Below are the face plans the actors received, along with images taken from the dress rehearsal

Consisted of covering blemishes and highlighting natural masculine features

Consisted of golden glam makeup to match the rich lifestyle the character lived

Consisted of light makeup that accentuated the eyes and gave a sort of cute and doe like appearance

Consisted of highlighting certain parts of the face and eyes to create a more childlike look

Consisted of glam makeup that wasn't too heavy, inspired by Pamela Anderson

Consisted of natural makeup that covered blemishes and accentuated nature features while remaining simple

Consisted of contouring and a comedic fake beard to appear more masculine and rough, as the character was a farmer

Consisted of contouring to create a more lean, masculine look while remaining clean, as the character was rich

Consisted of simple makeup that bordered glam, to highlight that the character was upper class but not as wealthy as others
